Security arrangements for the month of Muharram have been completed, said Federal Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali while addressing a press conference after holding a meeting to review the arrangements of law and order for Muharram at the Circuit House, Faisalabad on Sunday.
The minister said that control rooms have been set up to monitor processions while processions will also be scrutinised by SMS system. He vowed that there will be no load shedding on the routes of processions and gatherings including highly sensitive areas.
He appealed to the law enforcement agencies to perform their duty to ensure the situation of law and order in the metropolis and requested Sunni Ithehad Concil (SIC) Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza not to do politics on the occasion of Muharram.
He further requested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to defer his sit-in during the sacred month and hoped that Allah guides him to stop sit-in, but there is less hope.
