Special Assistant to Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui Sunday said the attack on Jamiat-Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman was a matter of concern for the nation.
“He [Fazl] is a moderate politician, who had always adopted constitutional and democratic means instead of violence,” Siddiqui said while talking to reporters after meeting Fazl at his residence.
Siddiqui said the JUI-F had always played a positive role in the national politics remaining within constitutional limits and rejected extremism and sectarianism.
Unfortunately many leading national, political and religious figures fell victim to terrorism, he said adding all sections of the society should play their role for eliminating the menace. He said that in the last few months, politics of long marches and sit-ins had created intolerance and hatred in the country.
