25 militants killed in latest ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ airstrikes in NW

Fresh airstrikes in North Waziristan on Monday killed at least 25 militants suspects and injured 10 others, private media reported.

According to report, the airstrikes targeted militant hideouts in Lataka, Danari, Sanzai areas of Dattakhel Tehsil of the tribal region.

Among those killed, two militants were Uzbek, it was added.

Meanwhile in Bajaur Agency on Monday, nine soldiers were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Charmang.

Men from Frontier Corps and Levies were among those injured.

Pakistan Military launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb, an offensive in the tribal area of North Waziristan in mid June, following a failure of peace talks between militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the government and a brazen attack on Karachi International Airport in which at least 30 people, including 10 attackers, were killed.
