Sindh police requests army’s help during Muharram

The Sindh police sought the help of Pakistan Army for security during the holy month of Moharram and a letter has been dispatched to the provincial home department for this purpose.

The letter issued by Additional IG Operations requests the provincial government to keep the military on standby during the holy month, as they will be called in, if need be.

According to the summary, at least 900 troops have been requisitioned to be deployed in south zone, four companies in east zone and three companies are required to be posted for security purposes in west zone.

Meantime, a company was solicited for Hyderabad and 50 troops for deployment in district Dadu and 400 others in Larkana. As many as five companies have been sought for Sukkur security, according to the summary.
