The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has carried more than 38,000 pilgrims from Jeddah to Pakistan through post-hajj and regular scheduled flights till Sunday, the 19th day of airline’s post hajj operation.
The national airline has operated 80 post hajj flights including 12 flights to Karachi carrying 3,900 pilgrims, 16 flights to Lahore carrying 6,700 pilgrims, 12 flights to Islamabad carrying around 5,200 pilgrims, 16 flights to Peshawar carrying 5,120 pilgrims, 16 flights to Quetta carrying 4,900 pilgrims, for Multan five flights carrying 1,630 pilgrims and three flights for Sialkot bringing back 1,500 pilgrims. The PIA is also bringing back pilgrims through its regular scheduled flights to Pakistan.
A press statement said the PIA hajj flights were departing on time from Jeddah and the pilgrims were being provided guidance and assistance at Jeddah Hajj terminal and PIA offices in Saudi Arabia.
The airline’s post-hajj operation of bringing back pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan will conclude on November 07, 2014.
