Business and routine affairs in Karachi are at a standstill as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is observing a ‘black day’ over the ‘Muhajir’ controversy raised by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah.
Almost all petrol pumps in the city are closed and public transport is off the roads. Karachi University also announced postponement of all examinations scheduled for the day.
The MQM said late Saturday night that it would hold a demonstration at the Sharae Quaideen-Sharae Faisal intersection at 3pm on Sunday (today).
MQM leader Altaf Hussain had appealed to traders and transporters to keep their businesses shut and not to bring their vehicles on roads to support the ‘peaceful’ black day.
MQM is more dangerous than Talbaan. It's party upon ethnic basis, In Europe such parties are called racist like skinheads, Klue Klux Klan and so on. We should discourage such political parties who are talking for the the division of provinces on the basis of ethnicity. Also PPP is on her way to self-destruction when they say "Marsoon marsoon Sindh naa dhesoon" because they are delivering that we are ready to divide other provinces but not Sindh. How they can claim them national party while having such slogan ?
In fact there is alternative approach to give facilities at the doors of the people at grass root level and that is to have three tier system. Center and provinces must have utter most few departments necessary to implement the national and provincial need of the center and provinces and theirs tier should be the units at grass root level big enough to deliver health, employment, education, residence, social welfare, communication, water and transportation departments. These units should be given complete financial and administrative independence. They should be provided all finances without any prejudice and the their elected representatives should prioritize according to their own units necessities.
Basically, MQM is a progressive and liberal polictical party in the pakistan. They hold up to 85% mandate in metropolis “Karachi”. The reality is totally crystal and differences too… Actually, MQM wanted to require some specific desire of high levels of demand from sindh government as well as federal government which are often rejected by sindh government officials we observe that they are temporarily careless political party…deliberately they started call off the strike in karachi those who works, schools, and daily public transport all are disturbed from their who has given to them a special authorities with some specific consultation. Perhaps it is not so much difficult to think alternate….
