To promote study in the United States (US) and let Pakistani students explore opportunities to study in the US higher education institutes, representatives from seven US universities interacted with several Pakistani students Saturday on the occassion of the 5th United States Education Foundation (USEFP)-led South Asia Tour to Pakistan in the last four years, in collaboration with Education USA.
USEFP is a bi-national commission established in 1950 by the governments of Pakistan and the US to promote mutual understanding between the people of both countries through educational and cultural exchange.
Education USA Advising Manager Umair Khan while welcoming the participants said that the purpose of the moot was to connect students in Pakistan with US universities. He added that the South Asia Tour is a great networking platform for developing closer ties.
“Pakistani students, along with their parents, must plan their higher education goals to earn a degree from the best possible educational institution in the US,” he emphasised.
“The tour is an opportunity for the general public as well as Pakistan’s brightest and best high school students to obtain first-hand information about academic and campus life at accredited US colleges and universities”, said a US University representative present on the occasion appreciating the caliber and talent of Pakistani students.
This year’s recruiting delegation included representatives from Valparaiso University, University of Northern Iowa, Savannah College of Art and Design, Hiram College, New York University-Polytechnic School of Engineering, Saint Peter’s University, and Fairfield University.
A large number of Pakistani students attended the event. In addition to meeting prospective students, the university representatives interacted with many institutional counterparts in different cities including Lahore and Karachi.
