QUETTA-

At least three people were killed and 20 others were injured in a bomb explosion near the Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F) rally in Quetta, private media reported.

According to details, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had concluded his addres and was about to leave the rally when it was hit by an explosion.

Rehman was quoted claiming that the bombing was a suicide attack and his vehicle was completely destroyed in the event. Rehman, however, remained unhurt.

Quetta was struck with a wave of violent attacks today when eight men from the Shia Hazara Community were gunned down early morning. Three more were killed in a bomb and gun attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.

  1. All sympathies with brave Maulana, who has bravely faced suicide attacks at least three times in the past few years. On the other hand, Taliban's political winghead Imran Khan & his cousin-TahirulQadri have never been attacked in the 70 days of dharnas & Jalsas.

PTI used to call Maulana FazalurRahman as "Maulana Diesel" but Maulana has shown a brave & clear stance by declaring TTP as against shariah. While Imran Khan has been caught red handed smuggling Diesel from Peshawar towards his dharna. Now he is called "Captain Diesel" for his diesel smuggling and confusing stance against TTP.
