Terror bid foiled in Peshawar, 10 kg bomb defused

A terror plot was foiled in Peshawar when bomb disposal unit (BDU) defused a 10 kilogramme bomb found in a commercial plaza on Wednesday.

According to BDU sources, a bomb was found in a shop of a commercial plaza situated near Jamrud Road.

BDU AIG Shafqat Malik said that the bomb weighed 10 kg and was installed in a monitor of a computer.

Meanwhile, two persons sustained injuries when a blast took place at University Road area in Peshawar.

According to police reports, it was a cylinder blast which occurred in a market, sending people running out of fear.

Police and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) arrived at the site and collected evidences from the scene. Officials said a gas cylinder exploded in a shop, causing a huge blast and partially damaging the shop located on Peshawar University Road. Two persons injured in the explosion were shifted to hospital by rescue teams.
