A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan to transfer the murder case of former minority affairs minister from Islamabad Anti Terrorism court to Faisalabad Anti-Terrorism Court on Thursday.

The petition was filed by Advocate Rana Abdul Hameed. The petition states that the petitioners, witnesses and lawyers are not being provided with adequate security despite court orders.

It was also maintained in the petition that all the main stakeholders in the case are from Faisalabad and therefore, considering the threat to their life, the case should be sent to the Anti-Terrorism Court in Faisalabad.

Former federal minister for minorities’ affairs was killed in 2011. The court proceeding against the two suspects in the murder case Hamad Hussain Adal and Umer Abdullah is underway in a trial court.
