ISLAMABAD-
A resolution against unprovoked Indian aggression at the working boundary along the Line of Control (LoC) was passed unanimously by the National Assembly, a private news channel reported.
The resolution, tabled by Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, condemned killing of innocent civilians by the firing and shelling of Indian border forces in the Pakistani territory.
Befitting retaliation to the Indian aggression by Pakistan Army was also appreciated in the resolution.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan Army is fully capable to respond appropriately to Indian aggression but, he said, Islamabad did not want to escalate tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations.
“Our desire for peace should not be taken as our weakness,” he asserted, adding the army would continue to respond effectively to any misadventure by India.
Around 14 civilians have so far been killed and several others have been injured due to such incidents of unprovoked firing at the LoC in recent weeks.
