At least eight people were killed in a gun attack in restive Quetta city of Balochistan, a private news channel reported Thursday.
According to police, the incident took place in Hazar Ganji area, on the outskirts of Quetta, where unknown gunmen fired shots on a bus carrying members of Hazara community.
Eigh Hazara men were killed in the attack on the spot, the report quoted SSP Sariyab Imran Quresh as saying.
The bodies and injured were shifted to civil hospital Quetta and Zia Medical Center for postmortem.
The predominantly Shia community whose members stand out on account of their Central Asian features has come under increasing attacks by extremist groups such as the Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LJ).
