Federal Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting on Wednesday to evaluate situation regarding production and supply of electricity in different areas of the country. The meeting had an overall assessment of the situation in the wake of IMF review which is just round the corner.
Power supply to different sectors – commercial, industrial and domestic was discussed in detail. The meeting expressed satisfaction that since provision of LNG would commence from first quarter of the next year, it would be best utilised by efficient gas-based power plants, thus improving the overall power generation.
Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khwaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Secretary Finance, Dr Waqar Masood, Secretary P&NR, Abid Saeed, Advisor Finance Division, Rana Asad Amin and other senior officials attended the meeting.
