BSS students participate in TCF’s Obhartey Sitarey contest

Obhartay Sitaray (OS) is an inter-school singing competition event arranged by The Citizen Foundation (TCF) since 2012. The event aims at promoting not only healthy competition amongst students but also raise funds for TCF. BSS-South schools have participated since its inception.

This year 250 schools from Karachi participated. Twenty-two of our students were selected to compete in the finale held at Marriott Hotel on October 11.

Gulshan Middle-II and North Nazimabad A-Level branches won the runners-up trophies at the secondary and college levels respectively.

Sheheryar Ahmed of Gulshan A-Level branch won the Winning Voice Trophy in the ghazal genre. He also won the TCF Running trophy, Akbar Ali Hashwani’s trophy and the participation shield.

Firzah Ahmed from Jubilee Campus and Ahmed Hanif from North Nazimabad won runners-up trophies and participation shields at the secondary and college levels respectively.

Eminent names from the music industry such as Khalid Anum, Tina Sani, Afshan Ahmed and Sahira Kazmi were the judges.

Due to generous contributions made by our students, BSS collected enough funds to support TCF’s Mobilink Campus-II for another year. For this, BSS Southern Region was awarded the Annual Support and Special Support trophies at the mega event.
