Sheikh sb doesn’t want to be opposition leader for ‘100 days’

Rejecting the impression that he was in for the slot of the opposition leader in National Assembly, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said Tuesday, “I cannot become opposition leader for 100 days.”

While talking to journalists outside the Parliament House Tuesday, the AML chief said that Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) has already been given “three divorces”. “I fear that if MQM comes back again, it will lose its remaining prestige.”

Rasheed went on to saying that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will have to resign sooner or later. “If Nawaz Sharif’s resignation does not come today, it will come tomorrow,” he said

“I am foreseeing that elections are going to be held next year. There is no option left other than this. Several objectives of dharnas have been achieved and above all these dharnas have changed public opinion,” he said, adding that prime minister wanted change in his cabinet while the need of hour was that policy be changed now.

Rasheed said that the Supreme Court (SC) wanted local bodies polls but the governments will not conduct these polls at any cost.

The AML chief claimed that it was Sharif who approached Army for help and not Imran Khan or Tahirul Qadri. “Very soon a mid way will open and institutions and establishment will intervene therein because dharnas will yield their outcome at every cost,” he indicated.

Commenting on the MQM-PPP tiff, he said that “three divorces” have already been given to MQM.
