Jet strikes kill key Taliban commander, 29 others in North Waziristan

Fresh strikes by Pakistan Military jets killed at least 30 suspected militants in North Waziristan Agency, private media reported.

Media reports quoted military officials saying jets targeted four militant hideouts in  Datta Khel area killing 30 militant suspects including key Taliban leader Daud Matta.

The claim could not be verified independently as media access in the area is restricted.

The strikes are part of the military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ launched in mid June (15) against local and foreign militants. The operation was launched after a militant attack on Karachi International Airport on June 8.

36 people were killed, including all 10 attackers, and at least 18 were wounded
