JI chief says present system has failed to deliver, urges oppressed masses to unite against exploiters, says sit-ins have lost momentum
Jamat Islami (JI) Amir Sirajul Haq has said that the protest sit-ins have lost their momentum and politics in the country have been turned into a business in which the election are put up for auction and seats purchased by interested quarters.
Addressing a large public meeting at Shikarpur, Haq stressed upon the masses to reject the prevalent system as he said that the life of the common man had not improved despite repeated elections. Calling upon the poor to unite, Haq reiterated that only the Islamic system could guarantee a developing and prosperous Pakistan.
He said that those who were conferred large land holdings by the British for their “treachery to the Muslim masses” were talking coming to power turn by turn.
“If the same politicians keep ruling the country with mere changes of faces, the fate of the nation will not improve,” he stressed.
“I have seen Islamabad from close and have noticed that there is every facility for the rich but no room for the poor,” he said.
HAQ BLASTS PPP:
Referring to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s address in Karachi on Saturday, Haq said that the PPP had been in power in Sindh for years and even now it was in power in Sindh, Gilgit and Azad Kashmir.
“To whom is Bilawal making the complaints of the deprivations being encountered by Sindh?” Haq asked.
He said that in fact, the masses were to be blamed for their plight as they did not distinguish between the true and deceptive rulers and “blindly voted for landlords and feudal lords every time”.
“It is a pity that the poor are being killed and that graveyards are expanding,” he said.
“There were only two parties in the country, the party of the rich and that of the poor and the oppressed.”
“The rich do not fight one another but the poor stand divided. If the country’s oppressed people unite, they will be stronger than a nuclear bomb,” he said.
JI Sindh Chief Merajul Huda Siddiqui and Deputy Chief Muhammad Husain Mehnati also addressed the rally.
