The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued a notice to the interior secretary over his failure to verify whether a missing man, said to be arrested by law enforcers, was kept in any internment centre in Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa.
Headed by Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh, a division bench also warned the interior secretary against further disobedience of its order, saying in a case a report is not submitted on or before next date of hearing, he, himself, would appear in person along with explanation.
The bench was hearing a petition filed by Saifullah who moved the court seeking recovery of his son, Hafiz Ehsanullah. The petitioner submitted that his son was taken away by law enforcers from Gulberg area on September 26, 2012 and he has been missing since then. He claimed that Ehsanullah was not involved in any criminal activity and pleaded to the court to order law enforcement officials to produce him in court.
