Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said on Saturday that his party was working for the rights of “downtrodden” people and for ending the exploitation of feudal lords from Pakistan.
While addressing a big rally at High School Ground Saturday, Haq said that during the recent political efforts, the JI neither supported the government nor sit-in politicians, but represented the aspiration of people of Pakistan. He said his mission is to end poverty and deprivation from Pakistan. He said he himself belongs to working class and destiny of poor people and his party is same.
He expressed concerns on jirga system in Sindh, and said after the annual convention of JI in Lahore on November 21, 2014, they would arrange a political gathering for elimination of tribal disputes in Sindh, which had destroy peace and claimed hundreds of lives in this province. He said people themselves have to take a firm stand for getting rid of from this oppression and unjust.
JI Sindh Amir Dr Mirajul Huda Siddiqui, Asadullah Bhutto, Hafiz Nasurullah Channa were also present. Leaders of Hindu community also participated in the moot where Haq was given traditional gifts of Sindh province, Ajrak and Topi.
Earlier, Haq was accorded a warm welcome on arrival in district Kashmore at the border of Sindh and Punjab provinces.
