Siraul Haq is playing politics over PTI MNA’s resignation: JUI-F chief

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman has asked National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to accept the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs while adding that the speaker should work according to the law and not follow the instructions of people, alleging that Jamat Islami (JI) Chief Sirajul Haq was also doing politics over the issue.

Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament on Friday, the JUI-F chief said that the PTI MNAs should be considered “resigned” from the house as per rules as “they themselves submitted their resignations at the Speaker Secretariat”.

Commenting on the ongoing protest sit-ins, Rehman said that the sit-ins had completely failed.

Rejecting the chance of mid-term polls, he said the politicians staging sit-ins were doing rallies in a bid to save their faces following the utter failure of the sit-ins.

About Malala Yousafzai’s Noble Peace Prize, the JUI-F chief said it was not shocking news as West takes steps to promote its culture and traditions. The JUI-F chief also condemned the resolution passed in the Senate congratulating Malala.

“What has Malala done for education in the country to get the prize? he asked, adding that the Nobel Prize was always given to controversial people like Dr Abdul Salam and Tasleema Nasreen who worked for the Western interests.

Replying to a query about Javed Hashmi’s defeat in Multan NA-149 by-polls, Rehman said that the “brave man” had foiled the conspiracy against democracy but added that Hashmi’s policy during the election campaign was “not good”.

“Only eight to 10 militants have been killed in Operation Zarb-e-Azb,” he alleged, adding that the government should tell when it would rehabilitate the internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Commenting on the US ban on Ansarul Umma chief Fazlur Rehman Khalil, the JUI-F chief said that the US had declared Khalil a terrorist but “the US is unable to see Indian and Israeli terrorism”.
