Multan: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) President Javed Hashmi has revealed that losing his National Assembly seat was also a part of the third umpire’s script. Hashmi, who on Thursday faced a massive by-election defeat in turn losing his National Assembly seat (NA-149) to Amir Dogar who had the backing of PTI, claimed that he had no other option but to follow the script.

It is pertinent to mention here that Hashmi, who won 38,393 votes to Dogar’s 52,321, also had the backing of the current ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

“The third umpire met me and raised his finger,” Javed Hashmi told Khabaristan Today in an exclusive interview. “I won’t mention which finger was raised because Khabaristan Today is a family publication,” he added.

Hashmi basically said that the third umpire’s script that was written sometime in July, included his divorce with PTI, and it also mentioned him losing his NA seat.

“I really couldn’t do anything about it. When I read the script back in July, I wasn’t best pleased,” Hashmi told Khabaristan Today. “But you have to do what the third umpire asks you to do.”

When told that a lot of the people assumed that he was the third umpire, after he unveiled the script, much to PTI chief Imran Khan’s dismay, Hashmi smiled mockingly.

“I get that a lot, but I think I’ve mentioned it before. I wasn’t the third umpire; I was just the silly mid-off, watching both the bowlers and the batsmen closely,” he said.

“The third umpire is big and strong. And he does no wrong,” he added.

    “Oh, that rhymed!”

91% Indians and Pakistanis believe joint Nobel Peace Prize is conspiracy for regional peace: survey

    Our LoC correspondent

New Delhi/Islamabad: According to a survey conducted by Khabaristan Today, 91 per cent of Indians and Pakistanis believe that the Nobel Committee’s decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize to an Indian and a Pakistani jointly is a conspiracy to make the region peaceful. We talked to 1,121,236 people over the past week, and the general consensus is that the powers that be are trying to minimise the possibility of war in these countries. It is pertinent to mention here that once you take the hatred for India away from Pakistan, or the hatred for Pakistan away from India, most of the population seems to lose its nationalistic identity.

Moments after Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi won the Nobel Peace Prize, we started asking people what the award could mean for Indo-Pak relations. And the masses were absolutely clear about it.

91 per cent of the people of India and Pakistan said that the award was a conspiracy to enforce peace. 88 per cent said that it was a plan to give Kashmir to the other country.

Then separate questions were asked from both Pakistanis and Indians.

97 per cent Pakistanis believe that the award had been given to an Indian and an Indian agent. 95 per cent believed that the Nobel Peace Prize is a global conspiracy to defame Pakistan by proving that this is a country where the Taliban live. While 84 per cent Pakistanis called it a distraction away from core issues like Kashmir, floods, etc.

Meanwhile, 92 per cent Indians claimed that the Nobel Committee is conspiring to resume Indo-Pak bilateral cricket series.
