Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Friday submitted a call attention notice in the National Assembly Secretariat to a matter of urgent public importance regarding the government’s “negligence and inability” to devise a concrete policy and undertake immediate steps to avoid the outspread of the lethal viral disease Ebola in Pakistan.

The motion was submitted by Dr Nafisa Shah, Shazia Mari, Dr Azra Fazal, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah and Ayaz Soomro.

They asked the House to invite the attention of the Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination to the matter.

As per World Health Organisation (WHO), Pakistan is on high-risk of having Ebola virus outbreak if necessary steps are not taken on emergency basis. The situation is worrisome and demands immediate discussion on the floor of the House, said the PPP parliamentarians.
