Federal Minister for Health Saira Afzal Tarar has said that there are rare chances of Ebola virus outbreak in Pakistan.
Speaking to a British channel, Tarar said that two battalions of Pakistan Army are performing as peace-keepers in Liberia–where there is an Ebola outbreak–and the soldiers have taken all precautionary measures.
The federal minister also said that health officials have been deployed at all entry and exit points of the country to prevent the virus from spreading in the country.
She added that the medical history of all the people entering and leaving the country will be taken and the passengers may be kept under observation for 30 days if necessary.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that the virus will be difficult to control if it breaks out in the country.
