Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday said that the anti-government protest sit-ins had lost their importance and the indifference of people to subversive politics had buried the politics of those having vested interests.

The CM was talking to Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain and General (r) Abdul Qayyum in Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz said that the government is vigorously pursuing the national agenda of development and stability of the country and prosperity of the people and that no conspiracy could stop the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from pursuing its mission of serving the public.

“Those staging sit-ins tried to create hindrances in the way of foreign investment and resolution of energy crisis in the country through their negative politics,” he alleged.

“The 180 million people would never forgive them for impeding the development of the country,” he added.

The CM said that the country is in a state of war and the government is busy in rehabilitation and relief activities for coping with the devastation caused by recent floods.

“Pak Army is fighting against enemies of peace for survival of the country,” said Shahbaz, expressing hope that the country would become a haven of peace with the efforts and sacrifices of the Pak Army.

Sharif also talked about the ongoing development projects in Punjab.

“The Punjab Government is utilising all resources at its disposal to bring prosperity in the lives of the people,” said the CM.
