An Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Wednesday remanded two accused, Muhammad Rashid alias Master, and Zahid Abbas Zaidi, to jail custody till October 22 in Zehra Shahid murder case.
Police produced the accused before the ATC-III judge under tight security. The investigation officer submitted before the court that accused were no more required for investigation. The court remanded the accused to jail custody for seven days with the direction to jail authorities to produce the accused on October 23.
According to prosecution, Muhammad Rashid was arrested on September 25 and remanded to police custody from September 26 to 14 October, while Zahid Abbas Zaidi was arrested on October 2 and remanded to police custody from October 3 to 14.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s one of the founding leader Zahra Shahid was gunned down soon after the general elections in 2013 outside her home in Defense on May 18, 2013.
A case FIR No 198/2013 was registered under Section 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act with the Gizri police station.
