Swedish Ambassador in Pakistan Tomas Rosander called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday and said that Sweden gives great importance to relations with Pakistan and assured continued cooperation with Pakistan particularly Punjab.

Matters of mutual interest, technical education, skill development, development of industrial sector and promotion of bilateral relations were also discussed during the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharif said that friendly relations exist between Pakistan and Sweden.

Stressing the need for promoting economic and trade relations between the two countries, Sharif said that maximum exchange of trade delegations at public and private level was essential for promotion of relations.

“Punjab Government is paying special attention to skill development for empowering the youth,” said the CM, adding that the promotion of technical education and skill development is vital for development and prosperity.

“The provincial government is therefore providing skills to the youth according to the market demands and a comprehensive programme is being implemented for this purpose which has yielded highly encouraging results,” said Sharif.

Swedish Deputy Head of Mission Carl Magnus Nilson was also present.
