Court rejects registrar’s objections on petition filed by Islamabad IG in PTI, PAT workers murder case
Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the objections raised by IHC registrar on the application filed by Islamabad Police IG in PTI, PAT workers murder case and adjourned the hearing till today (Thursday).
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of IHC took up the case for hearing Wednesday. Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Rana Waqar, counsel for the petitioner and standing counsel appeared in the court.
Counsel for petitioner told the court cases of murder of PTI and PAT workers were registered under the orders of Islamabad additional sessions judge. All these cases were challenged in IHC but the registrar IHC had raised objections over the application that surety related documents were not presented by the petitioner in the court.
The application was filed by Islamabad Police IG, Railway IG, former Islamabad Police IG, Punjab IG, Deputy Commissioner Mujahid Sher Dil and Secretariat Police Station SHO. The petitioners took the plea in their application that Islamabad additional session judge ordered for registration of murder cases of PTI and PAT workers against them including federal ministers which were illegal and unconstitutional.
The petitioners have requested IHC to revoke the cases and FIR registered against them under the orders of additional session judge.
