KARACHI-

The central committee members and Parliamentarians of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday wrote to the British Prime Minister David Cameron, requesting him to provide maximum security to MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in wake of threats received by the party from outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

“Altaf Hussain has always raised his voice against religious extremism and Talibanization; therefore, extremist elements are bent upon causing harm to him for his liberal and moderate thoughts. This is a matter of concern for thousands of his supporters across the world,” a press statement on MQM’s official website quoted from the letter.

The statement further added that MQM leaders have recently received extortion letters from TTP.

On Monday, MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar revealed that the party leaders received threatening letters through which the militants asked MQM lawmakers to pay up extortion money or face dire consequences.

    • Nothing is happening and nothing will happen to them. They are the inventors of this Bhatta Khori and are using it only as a ploy to "play" victims.

  2. your concerns will be noted by the PM-;but what concern is it yours to get involved in british citizen altaf?would it not make sense for you wise men to sort out security issues on your own home ground, rather than poking your long ugly noses into UK security? Why not get your bhai to return to pakistan where it is more 'safe' for him than Uk!
