Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered federation’s counsel to inform the court about the number of pending cases in Supreme Court (SC) against Protection of Pakistan Bill (PPB).
A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi took up Jamshed Dasti versus federation case for hearing Wednesday.
Counsel for petitioner told the court parliament has approved PPB.
Jamshed Dasti independent MNA has challenged it in the court taking the plea that approval of PPB from parliament has led to increase threats to life. A police man can target any citizen under the cloak of PPB.
The counsel for federation raised objection over it and argued a constitutional petition is already pending hearing in SC against PPB. JI Amir Sirajul Haq has also challenged this bill in SC.
The hearing of the case was adjourned indefinitely
