A decision has been taken to appoint Lady Health Workers (LHWs) on daily wages basis to make anti dengue campaign coordinated and successful in Rawal Town and Rawalpindi Cantonment.
Sources said that Rawalpindi Cantt and Rawal Town offices are facing shortage of 38 LHWs and 200 LHWs respectively due to which anti dengue drive could not run effectively in terms of indoor surveillance. The deficiency of LHW staff has been identified by district government Rawalpindi in anti-dengue macro plan.
Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed said homes located in high risk areas at Rawalpindi Cantt and Rawalpindi city will be declared red under macro plan and spray will be carried out in every home.
