One person was killed and a cop was injured in separate incidents of violence across the city on Tuesday.
Sources of PS Steel Town said that police found the body of 40-year-old Hashim Jokhio, a resident of Bhains Colony, from the shrine of Samandari Baba. The police then shifted the torture marks-bearing body to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC) for autopsy.
In another incident, 36-year-old police constable Wazir Ahmad was shot and injured by unidentified accused near his house in Sector-36/A Taiser Town.
Surjani Town Station House Officer (SHO) said that Wazir – who was posted at Sukkur Crime Branch – was going home, when unidentified armed men gunned him down and managaed to flee. He received a bullet on his shoulder and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.
