The Supreme Court Monday summoned ARY News Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salman Iqbal and anchorperson Mubasher Lucman in court on October 30 and directed that a charge sheet be framed against the two.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan passed the direction in the alleged Anti-Judiciary Program Case after considering the two as prima-facie guilty in the case.
During the course of the proceedings, the respondents’ counsel Irfan Qadir submitted the reply in compliance with court’s orders.
In the statement, both respondents said that they respect the judiciary and did not commit any contempt in the program.
The bench, after seeing the transcript of the alleged anti judiciary program and after examining the reply submitted by respondents, observed that prima-facie contempt of court was committed.
Subsequently the bench summoned the two to court in-person on October 30 and adjourned the case till then.
