Qadri hints at PAT, PTI electoral alliance

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that his party could form an electoral alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“I wish to see the two parties together in elections as well,” said the PAT chief in an exclusive interview to a private channel in Faisalabad.

Claiming that the PAT rally in Faisalabad had “opened the gates of victory” for the anti-government campaign, Qadri said that he would hold a public meeting in Bhakkar on November 23, Mianwali on December 7, Sargodha on December 30 and also in Abbottabad.

Qadri said that the “revolution” had different phases and it could only be brought about after great effort.

He claimed that there is no “feudalism” in his party.

“There are no feudal lords and plunderers in my party. I do not want any influence of landlords in my party.”

“We should strive to save the state and not politics,” he said.

PAT and PTI had both staged sit-ins in Islamabad for the past couple of months and are pressing for the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over alleged rigging in 2013 General Elections.
