3 schools in city reject polio vaccination to students

Three private schools in Malir Khokhrapar of Karachi have refused to administer polio drops to the schoolchildren; however, the health department has issued a warning to the administration of three schools. The administration has been cautioned that the schools will be sealed in case students are not vaccinated by today (Tuesday).

In sensitive areas of Karachi, the polio campaign is in its final phase after successfully achieving the set targets. According to Health Services Director Doctor Zafar, the polio campaign has almost been completed in three districts of Karachi.

However, the campaign was going on in three districts of Korangi, Malir and East Karachi. When the polio campaign teams visited the town of Khokhrapar, three private schools’ administration refused to vaccinate the students against polio.

The provincial health department has issued a warning to the schools for not taking precautions to protect students against polio. The polio teams will visit the schools today and in case the administration fails to cooperate, the school will be sealed.
