A government primary school located in Union Council Akil, hometown of Sindh Senior Minister for Education Nisar Khuhro, is functioning under the shade of trees since 1983. This also shows how Pakistan People’s Party government is functioning since over two decades.

As many as 65 male and female students are enrolled in the school. A visit to this school on Saturday morning by this scribe showed that the little students having books and plates in their hands were busy in studying under the thick shade of a tree just adjacent to the shrine of Anal-Haq in village Wazir Puhlpota.

There is only one primary teacher, Nawab Ali Kumbhar, which is imparting education to students. Kumbhar told PPI that over 65 students were enrolled from primary classes 1 to 5 in this school. They belonged to nearby villages which include Paroo Bhutto, Wandh Sajan Agani, Saeen Rakhyo Bhutto and Wazir Phulpoto, he said.

He said Headmaster Jinsar Ali Kumbhar expired few days ago who had raised six pillars of the school by properly utilizing SMC funds some five years ago and since then he wrote many applications to the notables of the area and sent several letters to higher government authorities for constructing roof of the school but nothing was done in his lifetime due to which the little kids wee forced to study under open sky.

He said now winter season was approaching fast and it would be almost impossible for these minor boys and girls to get education in the cold under the shade of a tree. The students informed that Education Supervisor Muhammad Khuhro was taking their examinations annually but he had also done nothing for providing them a roof.
