Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Rehman Malik has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to probe the stampede which took place in the rally in Multan.

At least seven people were killed and more than 50 persons were injured when a stampede broke out at the PTI’s rally in Qasim Bagh of Multan on Friday.

Rehman Malik, while speaking to journalists at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, said that the judicial commission should be formed to find whether the government or the party management of the rally was responsible for the incident.

The senator, commenting on the tensions between Pakistan and India at the Line Of Control (LOC), said that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi should extend his hand of friendship to Pakistan.

The former interior minister, claiming the tensions at LOC as “extremely dangerous”, said that Pakistan Army has the capability to give a suitable reply to the Indian firing and shelling.

He appealed the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Ban Ki-Moon to take action against the Indian violations of the LOC ceasefire at the working boundary.

Malik further said that terrorists carry out seasonal attacks in the country. He claimed that he will expose the oppressors and the nation itself will deal with them.
