Three Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants were killed in an encounter with police in Mauza Bakhri Uch Sharif on Saturday. However, Uch Sharif police claimed that the militants were killed in the firing of their own accomplices.
According to details, TTP activists Qari Nazeer Ahmed, Ehsan and Ghulam Hassan were in the custody of Naushera Jadid Police Station for investigation. Their six unknown armed accomplices stormed the police station on Friday night at 11.30 pm and succeeded in freeing them from police custody.
On receiving information , patrolling police parties started chasing the suspected militants and finally succeeded in besieging them in Maza Bakhri where an encounter ensued between both sides. All three suspects who had broken free from police custody were killed in the incident while their alleged accomplices fled in the cover of darkness.
It is pertinent to mention here that the three suspected TTP militants had shot dead police constable Haibat Khan on July 5 outside Tankiwali Masjid Uch Sharif where he was performing security duty during Traveeh prayers.
