PM says govt and army making efforts to rebuilt IDPs’ homes and provide modern facilities for a better living in NWA
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said the government was committed to rehabilitating the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan to their homes in a respectable manner.
Addressing IDPs at the Bakka Khel Camp, the prime minister said the government was looking forward to the early return of the IDPs to their homes, and that the Pakistan Army and government were making concerted efforts to rebuilt their houses with all facilities in order to resettle them in a better way.
Sharif said that meetings were being held to evolve development projects to bring the tribal belt at par with other developed areas of the country besides empowering its youth by imparting skill-based education to make them self reliant and strengthen them financially.
Praising Pakistan Army for the success of Operation Zarb-e-Azb, the prime minister said he visited areas of North Waziristan which used to be havens for terrorists but now the army had purged all anti-state elements from there.
He also appreciated the IDPs’ sacrifice, saying they had rendered supreme sacrifices which would bear fruit as they left their houses to purge the country from terrorists and for the sake of durable peace and prosperity.
The prime minister also distributed Eid gifts among the IDPs.
