The attendance in government, semi-government and private sector offices remained thin on Thursday – the first working day after Eid holidays.

Several senior officers in Pakistan Secretariat were also absent on the first day, affecting normal functioning. Everyone present in different federal government offices was in a ‘no-work mood’ and remained involved in exchanging Eid greetings.

Most of the staff has opted casual leave for Thursday and Friday to extend their Eid vacations till Sunday as majority of capital residents went to their native places to celebrate Eid with their loved ones and would be returning after the weekend.

Starting from Last Friday, such employees would enjoy 9 days break till next Monday when actually work at government and semi-government organizations would start at normal pace.

However, those who celebrated Eid in the twin cities or reside nearby returned to their respective offices on Thursday to register their presence.
