Police claim to have arrested 59 ‘high-profile’ accused

Mauripur police claimed to have arrested 22 accused including alleged target killers, terrorists and street criminals, and recovered a hand grenade and others weapons from their possession.

According to details, Station Police Officer (SHO) Mauripur Chaudhary Muhammad Saleem conducted raids and arrested 22 accused including Akhtar Ali, Akbar Kaka, Babar, Naeem Bloch, Chotto, Nadir Punjabi, Azhar Shakeel Baba, Shakir, Javeed Bloch, Tahir Bloch, Irfan Khan, Shakirullah Khan, Hijrat Khan, Arshad Punjabi and others.

Police recovered one hand grenade, 14 pistols, one 9-mm gun, 15 magazines dozens of rounds and stolen articles from their possession.

Meanwhile, Peerabad police also claimed to have arrested 35 accused and recovered weapons and drugs from their possession.

Station House Officer (SHO) Peerabad Muneer Ahmed Chandio conducted raids in different areas against criminal groups and dacoits including Kanwari Colony, Muslimabad and Banaras Chowk.

The police arrested drug peddlers and recovered 15 kilograms of Hashish from their possession. In another raid, police arrested five alleged dacoits and recovered five pistols, five, magazines, 16 rounds and stolen articles from their possession.

Besides, two street criminals, Saifullah and Noman, were also arrested and police recovered a pistol and stolen cell phones from their possession.

In a separate raid, Rizvia police arrested two motorcycle snatchers and recovered weapons and stolen motorcycle parts from their possession.

According to details, Station Police Officer (SHO) Malik Mazhar Awan raided Khajji Ground and Gulbahar Colony and arrested two motorcycle lifters identified as Umair Qureshi and Hamza.

Police recovered two pistols and parts of stolen motorcycles and began further probe.
