International flights at night have been suspended at Bacha Khan International Airport over security concerns, a private news channel reported on Thursday.
“The decision was made due to security concerns,” the Civil Aviation director general was reported as saying.
On October 7, four unidentified men opened fire on a passenger plane at Peshawar airport. The firing took place around 4:30am in the morning but no casualty or loss of life was reported.
Earlier, Emirates and Etihad halted operations at the Bacha Khan following an attack on a Pakistan International Airlines airplane on June 25. A female passenger was killed and two crew members were injured in the attack.
However, Emirates resumed operations soon at the airport but Etihad still has not.
