Islamabad Margallah Police has arrested two people for allegedly kidnapping a seven-year old girl and demanding ransom amount of Rs 10 million for her release, a police spokesman said Sunday.
The police spokesman said that Muhammad Yusuf, resident of House # 467, St #15 sector G-8/2 Islamabad, lodged the report with Margallah Police Station that her seven-year old daughter Zarlish Jabeen was riding her bicycle when two unidentified people kidnapped her. He said the kidnappers contacted on his cell phone and demanded Rs 10 million from him. Police registered the case under Section 365-A/34 and started investigation of matter.
Islamabad IGP Tahir Alam Khan constituted special team which started monitoring of the public call office (PCO) from where the accused contacted the father of kidnapped girl.
When one of the kidnappers came again at the same PCO, police succeeded to arrest him and also nabbed his other accomplice from sector G-8 besides recovering the kidnapped girl.
Police team recovered the vehicle from these nabbed kidnappers which they used in kidnapping the girl. They have been identified as Mithu and Khuram Shezad.
The mastermind of this kidnapping episode was Mithu, who earlier minted money from the people on the pretext of giving foreign visas to them.
Police have obtained physical remand of these nabbed persons from the concerned court and started further investigation into the matter.
POLICE RECOVER DRUGS, LIQUOR, WEAPONS:
Separately in a crackdown, police Sunday arrested 15 outlaws and recovered 2,170 grams of charras, three bottles of liquor, 11 litres of liquor, four 30-bore pistols with 17 rounds, one 44-bore rifle with 10 rounds, one 12-bore repeater with two rounds and LPG refilling gadgets.
According to Rawalpindi Police spokesman, Inspector Raja Fayyaz, Naseerabad Police held accused Ali Abbas on recovery of 400 grams of charras. Saddar Baroni Police netted accused Saghir Hussain and seized 1,250 grams of charras. Kalar Syedan Police recovered 520 grams of charras from the possession of accused Ghalib Hussain.
Waris Khan Police seized five litre of liquor and netted accused Aftab Aslam while accused Yaqoob was sent behind the bars for having six litres of liquor.
Civil Lines Police arrested accused Ayyaz Ahmed, Raja Mohsin and Siddique for carrying three liquor bottles.
Westridge Police conducted a raid at an LPG agency and apprehended accused Waseem Asif as he was involved in illegal LPG decanting business. Other accused were rounded up for possessing illegal weapons.
