A number of participants of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) sit-in in Islamabad have started returning to their hometowns to celebrate Eidul Azha with their families.
Jamal, a participant of the sit-in reportedly said that he came there along his family to support PAT’s demand but added that “it does not seem that the promises made by PAT leadership will not materialise soon”.
“About fifty days have passed since we came here. We are tired and want to spend Eid in our home towns,” he said.
“My family is greatly concerned and wants me to return home for Eid,” said Raheel Qadri– another participant of the sit-in.
“The PAT leadership never forced any one to stay for sit-in and all their workers are still there due to their personal motivation,” he added.
“I would go back to my home in Layyah and return if the sit-in continues after Eid,” he said.
