Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the formation of a three-member committee to include Shifa Medical College in schedule one and has sought an affidavit from the Health secretary in this regard.
The committee will comprise Justice (r) Falak Sher, Justice (r) Ijaz and IHC former chief justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam.
Justice Athar Minallah Friday heard the Shifa Medical College case. Saimul Haq Satti appeared before the court on behalf of the college while Shakil Ahmed represented the government. Advocate Malik Qamar Afzal and Doctor Amjad also appeared in the court.
Shifa Medical College counsel informed the court that Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) had not included Shifa Medical College in schedule one which posed serious threat to the future of hundreds of medical students.
The court nominated a three-member committee to resolve the problem.
Earlier, the Health secretary informed the court that the college was not included in schedule one due to a stay order of the court, following which the court ordered him to submit an affidavit in this regard.
There is a question about the importance and what might be the issues followed by this decision, of course there are some of the better instances that has to follow with best efforts, so they will be having good results.
