SWMC finalises comprehensive plan to ensure cleanliness in city during Eidul Azha
Solid Waste Management Company has urged citizens, particularly those living near open nullahs, not to throw offals and entrails of sacrificial animals in nullahs and drains.
According to Solid Waste Management Company Managing Director (MD) Irfan Qureshi, the company has finalised a comprehensive cleanliness plan for Eidul Azha to get rid of entrails of animals under which 200 points have been set up in the city.
As per the plan, maximum available resources would be utilised to fulfil the task during Eidul Azha holidays, he added.
He appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the sanitation staff and refrain from throwing entrails of sacrificial animals on roads while directing them to dispose off the entrails only at the specific points from where it can easily be removed to the landfill site at Losar.
He said that a large number of hand carts and heavy machinery would also be used to remove garbage and entrails from the city roads.
