Peshawar student shot at during violent clash over ‘Go Nawaz Go’

A student was shot and injured after a gunfight broke out between two groups of students for chanting the viral ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan in Islamia College University on Thursday.

Students supporting Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) clashed with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters as they chanted anti-Nawaz slogans. The ensuing clash resulted in bullet inuuries to a student named Shahab.

The controversial ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan seems to be getting under the skin of not only PML-N workers but also its leadership.

After the Wazirabad incident on Wednesday, PML-N leader and the prime minister’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif issued a veiled threat to PTI supporters and warned them not to mess with the “lions”.

Maryam tweeted that PML-N workers have had enough of PTI’s vandalism and Imran Khan’s supporters would not find a place to hide if PML-N resorts to responding them in kind.
