A senior officer of the federal bureaucracy was obstructed by the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protestors near Pakistan Secretariat in Islamabad.

The obstructers demanded identity card from the officers and reportedly used harsh language even after having the officer’s introduction. Later on, a group of senior PAT organizers interfered and rescued the senior officer from the situation.

It has been noted that the protestors of PAT have created their own security zone on the Constitution Avenue where they stop the commuters and ask them to show their identity cards and sometimes check their vehicles from inside. This leads to a disturbing situation for the commuters.

It is routine now that PAT workers obstruct officers and officials on their way to their offices located on Constitution Avenue. These kinds of acts not only cause delays for the officers to reach offices but also create nuisance and traumatic experience for the officers an in-turn badly affects the official working.

Constitution Avenue serves as the administrative centre for the government of Pakistan. Many important officers related to bureaucracy, judiciary, international organisations and two important hotels are located on or near, the avenue. The attitude of PAT workers is not only creating problems for the officers but also for the honourable judges of Supreme Court, foreigners etc.
