At least three people were killed when an explosion ripped through a passenger van in Gilgit on Thursday.
According to police, several people were also injured in the blast which hit the vehicle on Aalam bridge on Karakoram Highway, near Gilgit’s Haramosh area.
Speaking to reporters, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohammad Ali confirmed the number of dead, which included two women. He said that the wounded also included a large number of women.
Police has started investigating the incident, although details regarding the exact nature of the blast have not yet been released.
