Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday said he apologises if his 14 questions to the army has hurt sentiments of anyone.
A statement issued by the MQM on Wednesday said that the party’s Raabita Committee members in London and Pakistan had directed Hussain’s attention towards reservations expressed by some quarters over his letter to the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif containing 14 questions.
The MQM chief said that not only does he respect the army as a Pakistani, but also recognises their countless sacrifices for the country. He added that if certain elements from within the ranks of army were violating the dignity of the army then it is the duty of every true Pakistani to point it out.
Terming army as the last ray of hope, Hussain said that people look towards their own people in the time of need and distress. “I have looked upon the Pakistan Army as a protector like any other Pakistani,” the statement added.
