1,633 dengue suspects visit allied hospitals

Around 1,633 dengue fever suspects have so far been brought to the allied hospitals of the city, out of which 65 cases were positive who were provided the required treatment and 20 discharged after recovery, while 31 were admitted in the hospital, focal person for RMC and Allied Hospitals of Rawalpindi, Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) Dr Javed Hayat said Thursday.

To date, the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) has registered 417 dengue fever suspects, District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) registered 54 while 291 suspects were registered with Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), Javaid added. “Presently 23 dengue patients are under treatment in HFH, five in BBH and three in DHQ,” he added. He said all out-efforts are being made to control dengue cases in Rawalpindi district, adding that dengue fever situation is under control.

“Chance of dengue fever will end by mid of October when the weather conditions change.”

Dr Javed Hayat said maximum arrangements for the treatment of dengue fever patients have been made; besides all possible preventive measures are in place to meet any eventuality.

District Health Dengue Campaign In-charge Dr Tahir Ahmed said a full scale fumigation drive is underway in different localities of the city especially where dengue larva has been found.
